Henry County Sheriff James Padilla, Kewanee, IL spoke regarding the K9 Unit for the Sheriff’s Department and stated it is funded by the drug fund.
Ms. Angie Zarvell, Regional Superintendent of Schools, introduced herself. She was appointed June 1, 2011. She also announed Mr. Brad Hulick, will be the new Assistant Superintendent.
Mr. John Ulmstead and Mrs. Wanda Ulmstead, Maertens Lodge owners, spoke regarding Invenergy, and feel their property has been threatened by power lines.

Chairman Tim Wells spoke regarding Rules of the County Board, per diem and expenses.
Member Roger Gradert spoke regarding recycling and the Henry County Fair week.
Member Bill Preston suggested closed sessions be scheduled for the end of the County Board meeting’s.
Member Pat Ripperger said Public Comment is at the beginning of the meeting, but it would be nice for County Board Members to be able to ask questions to individuals who have comments.
Member John Sovanski in response to Pat Ripperger said questions could be brought as presentation such as Angie Zarvell, Regional Superintendent of Schools, who spoke during Public Comment.
Member Pat Ripperger and various others discussed Mr. and Mrs. Ulmstead’s issue brought up during Public Comment regarding their property.
37. Member Jon Zahm moved to adjourn until the July 12, 2011 County Board meeting to be held at the Kewanee City Hall. Member Jan May seconded the motion.
