KNOW YOUR RIGHTS
Your Miranda Rights are
as follows:
1. You have the right to remain silent.
2. If you do say anything, what you say can be used against you in
a court of law.
3. You have the right to consult with an attorney and have the
attorney present during any questioning.
4. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you
if you so desire.
5. If you choose to talk to the police officer, you have the right
to stop the interview at any time.
It is the advice of the Henry County Public Defender that if you are
questioned by the police and you do not understand what is going on or
are unsure if you are making an appropriate decision you should invoke
your rights and remain silent until you have had an opportunity to speak
with an attorney. If an officer states that you are free to go you
should not remain or answer any further questions!
