The internship program provides the student the opportunity to learn policies and procedures of the department and the Juvenile & Criminal Courts.

Eligibility:

  1. The student must be of junior or senior standing in a recognized Bachelor's degree or graduate program.

  2. The student must be enrolled in law enforcement, social service or related field of study.

  3. The student must have a minimum GPA of 2.25 overall and a 2.50 GPA in their major.

  4. The student must be referred by the school internship coordinator at least 60 days prior to the start of the semester. A full-time internship, 35-40 hours per week, is required.

  5. The department will complete a criminal background check on the student prior to accepting him/her for the internship.

  6. The student is to provide his/her own transportation.

  7. The student must participate in a screening process to include at least one interview at the department and completion of all application materials.

  8. Internships are unpaid.

The Henry County Court Services Department has proven to be a popular choice for student internships. We only accept one intern per semester so contact your internship coordinator early!
